Please join us for this fun wine tasting event during which we will explore and taste Spanish wine, discussing both the winemaking techniques and the various grapes that result in these different styles of wine that are perfect for summer sipping and pairing with a wide range of foods.

About the Presenter:
Dr. Smoller has had a passion for wine since his days living near Napa Valley. He has been seriously studying wine for the last 11 years and has completed three of the six sections of the Wine and Spirits Educational Trust (WSET) level 4 (Diploma level). Along the way he has also completed the Italian Wine Scholar and French Wine Scholar programs (Wine Scholar Guild), the Spanish Wine Expert course, along with master level courses in Bordeaux, Burgundy, Alsace, Loire Valley, Rhone Valley, Champagne, and Rioja, all with honors. His wine studies are not limited to Europe, however, and he has also successfully completed courses about wines from California, Oregon and Texas, Argentina, Chile, China, Georgia, South Africa, Australia, Canada, and New Zealand.
He has been formally certified as an instructor for the WSET program, as well as by the Wine Scholar Guild. He teaches several wine courses at Daemen University and Finger Lakes Community College and gives wine presentations throughout the greater Rochester region. He is the owner of Know Wine, LLC (www.knowwine.net). In his spare time, he is a Professor at Univ. Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry.

Vokel Cellars is an ultra-boutique micro producer based out of Sonoma County’s Russian River Valley. Led by owner and winemaker Dana von Sternberg the Vokel team produces an extremely limited lineup of wine from their own small estate property and from a few other nearby vineyard.

Roc Roller Derby Takeover
Dice Versa is teaming up with Rochester Roller Derby (RCRD) for a fundraising event where they come and take over the space. RCRD will have a table set up as well as staff members rolling around to answer any questions.
For the night we will have reduced game prices, a few different raffles and every alcoholic beverage purchased will donate $1 to the roller derby. Come check it out and enjoy a very unique fundraiser.
